Get to know Visit Charlotte!
The Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority (CRVA) is a leader in the region’s leisure and hospitality industry. As an organization, the CRVA utilizes destination development, marketing expertise and venue management capabilities to successfully host meetings and events.
The CRVA specializes in place branding, venue management and strategic events to support the Charlotte tourism, as well as the organization’s world-class venues like the Charlotte Convention Center, Bojangles Entertainment Complex, NASCAR Hall of Fame and Spectrum Center. The Charlotte Convention Center is a state-of-the-art, 600,000-square-foot facility with 280,000 square feet of exhibit hall space, along with breakout spaces, more than 50 meeting rooms and two ballrooms. The Convention Center is conveniently located in Uptown Charlotte, just seven miles from Charlotte Douglas International Airport, where visitors are just steps away from the light rail, hotels, restaurants, and arts and culture attractions, all against the backdrop of a vibrant cityscape.
What sets you apart?
All aspects of the CRVA, from marketing and communications to sales and venue management, work to achieve the same goal – to make Charlotte the most sought-after city in the Southeast. The organizations and all of our employees work collaboratively to enhance a visitor’s time in the Queen City.
How does your organization prioritize customer satisfaction and ensure a positive experience for its clients?
Delivering memorable customer experiences drives the work we do at the CRVA. Across the whole organizations and our brands/venues, the CRVA understands that creating an inclusive, welcoming environment enhances a visitor’s experience in Charlotte.
Can you share what your organization is doing to create diverse, inclusive and equitable meetings experiences?
Diversity & Inclusion is one of our four key themes. On charlottesgotalot.com, we showcase our dynamic LGBTQ+ community, from local personalities in our Charlotte Love Notes series to our hardworking LGBTQ+ business owners. We invite visitors to start planning their trip using specially curated travel itineraries that cater to diverse interests, from dancing and cultural exploration to culinary adventures.
We also offer a list of local LGBTQ+ organizations and resources for meeting planners to utilize. This ever-growing list includes committees and chambers, nonprofit organizations, businesses, sports clubs and more.
Why is it important to your organization to support the LGBTQIA+ community?
The heart of Charlotte is its people, and the CRVA prides itself on lifting up the unique and diverse voices that unite our visitors and residents. Charlotte’s LGBTQ+ community thrives thanks to the people who call the Queen City home and make it a welcoming destination for visitors.
Looking ahead! What does the future hold?
While the Queen City celebrates National Pride Month in June, festivities continue during Charlotte Black Pride in June and Charlotte Pride in August, both featuring special events, performances, parties and more. Each year, the CRVA is a proud sponsor of the annual Charlotte Pride celebration.
Film buffs should also save the date for the annual Reel Out Charlotte LGBTQ film festival in spring, part of Charlotte Pride’s year-round programming.
As a member of the International LGBTQ+ Travel Association, the CRVA invites visitors from all walks of life to explore the vibrant city of Charlotte.
